General Maintenance Worker

This individual owns maintenance of all things mechanical at Kotis Print Shop.  Assists in design planning, prepping, and execution of new work area layouts and makes changes to existing. Troubleshoots solutions for regular and irregular operations of equipment.  Operates with autonomy and does constant on the job research in order to solve numerous difficulties with little assistance.  Works with Print Shop Manager to prioritize projects to make best shirts and swag ever.
The perfect candidate loves taking things apart and putting them back together and in essence, personifies DIY.  They likely love working on cars or other small engines, have a mechanical aptitude, and possibly experimented in carpentry.  They know how to independently troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems.

Machine Maintenance & Repair
  • Diagnose machinery when issues arise and figure out a fix
  • Problem solve the reason for breakdowns and test different fixes
  • Communicate with industry technicians when needed
  • Machine/equipment maintenance (presses, heat presses, sewing, knitting, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot knitting/embroidery needles and how to adjust the machines when not performing optimally
  • Set up new equipment
General Maintenance & Repair
  • General electric troubleshooting
  • Connect and troubleshoot pneumatic things
  • Set-up non equipment machines (such as printers)
  • Pick up supplies
  • Change light bulbs
  • Paint walls
  • Re-surfacing pallets (putting new rubber on when needed)
  • General building maintenance
  • Create custom pallets/jigs for the screen printing presses
  • Help with misc. office improvements like additional lights over presses/equipment, or adjusting the height of a press
  • Build lockers, desks, shelves and other furniture items that are needed
  • Zip-tying airlines and electrical cords to clean them up
  • Move airlines and electrical cords when we change layouts and re-zip-tying them
Process Training
  • Document all processes and procedures for reference and training
  • Train others on the ins and outs of specific equipment and how to best run each machine (maintenance schedules, adjustments, etc.)
  • Undertake R&D on how to use the machinery in new and unique ways to add value to the products being produced
  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:30am - 5pm

The noise level in the work environment is often loud.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50lbs at times
  • Regularly stand for long periods of time while reaching with hands and arms
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend complex written or oral instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
